President’s Message During Yantra Mela 2015

I feel honoured to be able to bring up the event ‘Krishi Yantra Mela – II – 2012’  held at Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur from 02 to 04 November 2012 in a grand  manner . Sri D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala , a titan in the field of education, a colossus in the field of rural development, who is also the President of Arecanut Research and Development Foundation presided and inaugurated this Mela.

CAMPCO, Arecanut Research and Development Foundation and Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur,  jointly organized this event.

This Mela had showcased implements, machinery and gadgets that are of interest to farmers. There were demonstrations and exhibitions of these machineries too. Opportunities were provided to students of engineering colleges situated in areas where Arecanut is a grown to showcase agricultural machinery designed by them. The best projects were  awarded. In addition, agricultural machinery designed and developed by progressive agriculturists were also displayed. More than 1.5 Lakh Farmers took advantage from this Mela.

With this achievement, we are indeed happy to announce that during January 2015, we are going to organize another  Mega Agricultural Machinery Fair- Krishi Yantra Mela III, 2015 in a big way. There will be about 220 Machinery Stalls and we expect nearly three Lakh Farmers to witness this Mega Fair. Apart from this, there will be field demonstrations of Machineries and face to face discussions with the Scientists and Innovators as well.
